History

In 2013, as Pastor Jorge was leading the Junior High Ministry at Calvary Monterey in Monterey Bay, California, he was invited by Senior Pastor Nate Holdridge to be a part of a small group of pastors who walked through a church planting manual together for a few months. During this class, Jorge began to see the value in planting churches and realized that the Lord may be calling him out to do so someday.

In 2015, Jorge attended a lead Pastor's Conference at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa.  Here, he felt confirmation that he and his family would one day plant a church.

In 2016, after months of prayer between Jorge and his wife Lauren and many conversations with pastors from Calvary Monterey, Jorge asked to meet with Pastor Doug Sauder and Pastor Billy Venezia from Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale. After the meeting with Doug and Billy, Jorge and Lauren felt stronger than ever that they were called to church plant and what's more, they began to feel the burden to minister to the people of Coconut Creek, Florida. Pro/con lists were made, fasts were undertaken, and patience was employed as Jorge and Lauren felt called to go to Florida but still didn't know the Lord's timing for their move.

In January of 2017, the Lord began to propel Jorge and Lauren forward in their calling. They began to feel an urgency for pastoring in Florida and asked the Lord for a final word of confirmation before they made the decision to move with their 2 kids to form a church in Coconut Creek. On a Wednesday night mid-week service at Calvary Monterey, Pastor Nate was teaching through the book of Acts when he began to speak of Philip and his ministry in Jerusalem, Samaria, and the road to Gaza. There in Acts 8:26 the Lord told Philip that it was time to leave his fruitful ministry in Samaria and travel south. When Jorge and Lauren heard this verse, they both individually felt God calling them to head back south and start a new church.

After sharing their story with the pastors and staff at Calvary Monterey, the church decided to train and send them out to a new work in South Florida. The Church met at Pastor Jorge's home for their first meeting and soon afterwards found a wonderful meeting room at Calypso Cove Water Park in Margate. After meeting at Calypso Cove for a few months the church moved to it's current location in Coconut Creek.

Statement of Faith

Essentials

We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God. We believe the Bible is the final authority in every area it addresses for every individual Christian, as well as for the church collectively. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:21, John 10:35)

We believe there is one God who eternally exists as three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that all things were created by Him and for Him. (Deuteronomy 6:4, Isaiah 45:21-22, Matthew 28:19, Colossians 1:16)

We believe that God the Son became a human being in the person of Jesus Christ. That He was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life (for He was without sin), died a substitutionary death for all mankind, was raised from the dead the third day, ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God until His enemies are made His footstool. (John 1:1, 14, Matthew 1:18-25, 2 Corinthians 5:21, 1 Peter 3:18, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, Hebrews 10:12-13)

We believe the Holy Spirit was sent by the Father and the Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. We believe the Holy Spirit regenerates and indwells and seals every believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, and that He empowers us to live as witnesses for Christ. (John 14:16-17, John 16:7-11, Titus 3:5-6, Romans 8:9, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, Ephesians 1:13-14, Acts 1:8, Romans 12:6-8, 1 Corinthians 12-14, 1 Peter 4:10-11)

We believe that God created human beings, male and female, in His own image. He created them sinless, equal in value, dignity, and worth. According to His purpose and design, men and women are created to fulfill distinct but complementary roles in the contexts of marriage, family, and the local church. (Genesis 1:26-28, Ephesians 5:22-6:4, 1 Timothy 3:1-7)

We believe that, as a result of the Fall, all people are sinners by nature and in need of a Savior, and that Jesus Christ is the one and only Savior of the world. That salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus. We believe that all who call on the name of the Lord Jesus shall be saved eternally. (Romans 3:10, Romans 3:23, Romans 5:18-19, Matthew 1:21, 1 John 4:14, John 14:6, Acts 4:12, Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 10:9)

We believe there is one church, the body of Christ, consisting of men and women from every tribe, tongue, people, and nation. We believe that each local congregation is an expression of that universal church. (Ephesians 4:4, 1 Corinthians 12:12-13, Revelation 5:9, Acts 2:42-47)

Non Essentials

We believe the church will be delivered from the “hour of trial” which will come upon all who dwell on the earth, being “caught up” in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air (the Rapture). (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, 1 Corinthians 15:51-55, Revelation 3:10)

We believe the saints will return with Christ to the earth, at His Second Coming, to rule and reign with Him. (Jude 1:14, Revelation 19:11-16, Revelation 20:4)

We believe in the resurrection of the dead. Some will be raised to life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt (hell). We believe that God will create a new heaven and earth in which righteousness will dwell. We believe that the throne of God and the Lamb (Jesus Christ) will be established in the New Jerusalem forever. (Daniel 12:2, John 5:25-29, Revelation 21:1-22:5)

Core Values

Our Core Values exist to act as a guide post for the development of our character as a Church. These are the character traits that we as a Church strive to develop within ourselves personally and in our group.

Charity- We value Loving others in deed. This means we seek to show love to one another not just talk about it. Be there when someones going through tough times, buy someone groceries when their car breaks down, and sit and listen when someone needs a friend.

Honesty- We value honesty amongst God’s family. Be honest about who you are, where you come from, and what you're struggling with. God will work in your life when you are honest with Him and willing to drop the act with the Church.

Obedience- We value obedience to God. This means that when God's Word conflicts with our own opinions, our past, or our culture we choose to obey God's Word. This also means we place a high priority on finding out what God is calling each of us to do with our lives so we can do it.

Investment- We value investment into God’s Kingdom. This means we give towards building God's Kingdom. We give time, energy, and our resources for the work of the ministry. We find ways to fit ministry into our every day lives so that God is honored, we are blessed, and people experience the love of God through our investment. We don't sit idly by as others do the work God has called the church to but we find ways to invest ourselves in it as well.

Community- We value the community which God provides for those who believe in Jesus. Prayer, Accountability, Support, and Care are a few things that we long to see in our community. We also long to see the city we serve be blessed because of our presence in it. This means we find ways as a church to use our resources to bless one another and those outside of our church community.

Endurance- We value patient endurance through life’s difficulties with God’s help resisting temptation to sin. This means we seek to confess when we're weak to one another and we seek to receive help from God instead of from temporary relief provided by sin and substance abuse.
